From the first, delicate opening notes, through to the melancholic yet hopeful, closing track, Early Bright, the new album from Solas founding member, Seamus Egan, is a deeply personal offering of new and original material. Written mostly in his new home state of Vermont and recorded at various studios throughout the US while he was on tour, Early Bright, marks the beginning of a new chapter for an artist considered to be one of the most influential musicians in the world of traditional Irish music. From his beginnings as a teen prodigy, to his groundbreaking solo work with Shanachie Records, to his founding of Irish-American powerhouse band Solas, to his current work as one of the leading composers and interpreters of the tradition, Egan has inspired multiple generations of musicians and helped define the sound of Irish music today. This album will undoubtedly add to that legacy.
